When my wife Allison, a Pediatric ICU nurse, comes home after a long shift, I often hear stories about the incredible work she’s done and the challenges she’s faced caring for critically ill children. I’ve seen the emotional toll it takes on her, and I’ve also seen the immense passion she has for making a difference in these kids' lives. That’s why I’m proud to be raising funds for the Courage Classic—because the money raised through this event goes directly toward helping her, her colleagues, and countless other healthcare professionals at Children's Hospital Colorado provide the best care possible to these kids.
The funds from the Courage Classic don’t just support medical equipment and advanced technologies; they also help fund educational opportunities for staff, like the PICU Learning Symposium that my wife recently attended. This symposium, made possible by the event’s donations, gave her the chance to learn from experts in the field, deepen her knowledge, and bring back valuable skills that she applies directly to the care of her patients.
These funds will also help provide life-saving equipment, support groundbreaking research, and fund programs that give families the emotional support they need when their children are critically ill. I’ve seen firsthand how hard my wife works to provide both medical care and emotional comfort to her young patients and their families. The Courage Classic helps ensure that she and other healthcare providers have the resources to do their jobs to the highest standard.
I am fundraising because I believe in the cause. I see the difference it makes in my Allison’s work, and I see the difference it makes in the lives of the children she cares for. Every dollar raised helps ensure that families in crisis get the support they need, and that these healthcare workers have the tools, training, and resources to do their jobs effectively.
The Courage Classic is more than just a bike ride—it’s a way for all of us to contribute to a cause that directly impacts so many lives. Whether it's through funding education, providing resources, or supporting families, the event plays a crucial role in helping to deliver world-class care to kids in need.
