Welcome to my courage classic page! I’m riding in loving memory of Naya .
Nauelese was an extraordinarily phenomenal gift that the world received on September 13, 2023 at Children's Hospital Colorado. She would forever change the lives of people around her and lives of the people who will continue to be impacted by her legacy as it echoes into eternity. Nauelese had a spirit that was undeniably remarkable. She was diagnosed with several heart defects at just 20 weeks gestation including: Severe aortic arch hypoplasia with near-interruption, left superior vena cava to coronary sinus connection, hypoplastic mitral valve, hypoplastic left ventricle, multiple ventricular septal defects, hypoplastic aortic annulus, and atrial septal defect. She would require a series of open heart surgeries after birth to repair the defects in her heart. She started this long journey at only 6 days old and would have 3 open heart surgeries by the time she was 10 weeks old, each resulting in severe life threatening complications. She fought the next 11 months with the odds against her. She never knew what odds were or what they signified so she continued the battle with CHD with all her might and bravery. She amazed her medical team as she overcame the most grim days and outcomes and was discharged after 293 days. Her surgical repairs did not provide expected results and time did not allow Nauelese to surmount her battles but she conquered her reason for existence leaving her everlasting force on August 11, 2024 to live on. She continues to pave the way in infant cardiac care today.
