This summer I am riding in my first Courage Classic, a two-day ride through the Rocky Mountains, as part of the Cardiac Climbers team to support the Heart Institute of Children's Hospital Colorado.
I am honored to dedicate my ride to a very special heart warrior, Calista.
From her mother, Maria:
"Calista is a feisty sassy 7-year-old who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She has undergone all three surgeries and is doing really well. A big milestone is she recently got her Gtube out after having since birth. She loves to dance sing and play softball! She is a leader in her school and is so caring with all her friends. We are so grateful to our cardiac team and children's for all they have done for her. She loves to do a book donation every year for her birthday to give back to kids in the hospital. She said she wants to be a nurse, actor, teacher, or a bus driver when she grows up!!!"
