My name is Katie and I am riding on Team MedSurg Mavericks this year. I have been a nurse at Childrens Hospital Colorado for close to 8 years.
During that time I’ve cared for many amazing children. Amazing children like Teagan. Miss Teagan was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy. A genetic condition that causes malfunction of the brains white matter and peripheral nervous system. Teagan fought very hard. As her disease progressed she spent more time at Children’s Hospital until she gained her angel wings in February 2023.
Teagan is a beautiful little girl, her mommy’s twin. She made everyone's day when we got to take care of her. She will always be remembered as a sweet, strong girl. Her family made sure she lived life to the fullest and spent a lot of time together in their RV renovated to meet Teagans complex medical needs.
I am riding in her memory. These life events affect the entire family. My hope is to raise money so that Children’s Hospital can continue to support the patient and their entire family as a unit, as well as research rare diseases like Teagans to provide cures, treatments, and extended quality of life.
Thank you to Teagan’s parents Kelsey and Shaun for this honor. Please consider contributing to Children’s Hospital Colorado to provide care for children like Teagan.
