For this year’s Courage Classic, Matt Baker and I will be riding in honor and memory of Mollie. We didn’t know Mollie personally, but as a part of her care team, we had the privilege of meeting her remarkable parents, two of the most resilient and loving people that we have encountered. From the stories that they shared, it was clear that the world needs more people like Mollie. Mollie’s kindness and love for others knew no bounds. She was a devoted daughter, caring big sister, and beloved friend to many. She found joy and passion in many things, including skiing, gymnastics, and mountain biking. Mollie also had a very vivid imagination and spent countless hours reading, drawing, and painting. One evening, Mollie became very sick and was rushed to the PICU. After extensive testing, it was discovered that her body had a very rare and serious reaction to a common virus, one that ultimately took her life. Though she is no longer with us, her love and kindness have impacted her entire community, and her memory will live on forever. Funds raised by the PICU team during the Courage Classic will go toward supporting patients and families facing their own difficult journeys. We will be riding over 100 miles through the Rockies in her memory, and we sincerely thank you for your time and for considering a donation to this meaningful cause.
