It's that time of year again when I reflect back on all of the patients with whom I have cared for and the families who have allowed me into their lives. Their strength and determination are a constant reminder to why I have been a NICU nurse for over 25 years. Seeing firsthand, how advancements in medicine change lives and improve the quality of life for such a vulnerable population. Children's Hospital Colorado is involved in cutting edge research that contributes to pediatric medicine globally. Their studies often lead to new treatments and therapies that benefit children beyond Colorado.
This year due to a leg injury, I will be donating my time (rather than riding) to serve as a medic to my colleagues and families riding on July 19 and 20 in support of Children's Hospital Colorado.
