I ride to give hope to my son Elliott and all Children’s Hospital Colorado patients.
Elliott had a stoke when he was born and was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He constantly exceeds our wildest expectations with his attitude, persistence, and abilities. He has greatly benefited from OT, PT, and speech programs from Children’s and perhaps was the youngest member of ARCH (Adaptive Recreation for Childhood Health) at four years old.
Elliott loves sports, biking, outdoors, anything where he is moving. ARCH allows Elliott see other kids like him participating in sports and built his interest (and mine!) in climbing. He'll be trying golf, fencing, and fly fishing this summer through the ARCH program as well. The staff and support from Children’s is a huge reason Elliott is on track to attend kindergarten and able to participate in so many of the sporting activities that he loves.
The Courage Classic a great opportunity to raise money for the programs that benefit Elliott and so many other kids. I hope one day to ride the race together with him.
