I ride to give hope to my son Elliott and all Children’s Hospital Colorado patients.
Elliott had a stroke when he was born and was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He constantly exceeds our wildest expectations with his attitude, persistence, and abilities. He has greatly benefited from OT, PT, and speech programs from Children’s and perhaps was the youngest member of ARCH (Adaptive Recreation for Childhood Health) at four years old.
Elliott loves sports, biking, outdoors, anything where he is moving. ARCH allows Elliott see other kids like him participating in sports and builds his interest and skills in a variety of sports. He's been able to explore golf, fencing, climbing, and sailing through the ARCH program. Overall, the staff and support from Children’s is a huge reason that Elliott was on track to attend kindergarten and able to successfully participate in so many of the day to day sporting activities that he loves.
Elliott has shown me that even with a lifelong condition like CP - you can push limits and you can succeed! He's gone from doctors saying he would never walk to scoring two goals in his last soccer game! So much is possible with EFFORT!
Please support my page to continue funding the ARCH programs and giving all kids the opportunity to participate in sports that are adapted to their unique needs.
