I ride for all of the amazing kids that were/are Children’s Hospital Colorado patients including my son, Hawkin.
Hawkin was born with an undiagnosed condition called transposition of the great arteries (TGA). This came as a shock to everyone involved, especially our family. He was airlifted to Children's Hospital and within hours was stabilized. He had surgery at 7 days old, and we spent a month in the hospital with him before we could bring him home. This was the biggest emotional roller coaster of my life. The love and support from our friends and family helped us get through that difficult time. The staff there was caring and professional and amazing, which is what we needed. While there, we met families undergoing similar experiences, and some much more terrifying than ours. For those going through the emotional roller coaster now, just know you're getting the best care possible!
Please help me in our cause to support the Children's Hospital and more specifically the Cardiac Team.
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for kids like Hawkin.
