Dear family and friends,
I hope this finds you all happy and healthy. It is that time of year and I am participating in my 3rd Courage Classic Bicycle Tour in July. This bicylce tour is to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado patients and families. I set a goal to raise $500 because I want to help Children's Colorado ensure healthier futures for kids.
From fixing broken bones to treating congenital heart defects, your support allows Children's Colorado to continue to serve the kids and families in our community who depend on the hospital for care.
It is hard to believe that July will be our 5 year mark since Harper's medical crisis. We have come a long way in 5 years and it is due in large part to the care she has received at Children's Hospital Colorado. Her spunk and sass has served her well along this journey. She participated in soccer, cheerleading and gymnastics this past school year. This fall she will enter kindergarten at Tanner and Taylor's school.
Tanner will enter 5th grade in the fall. The girls are lucky to have him as a big brother. He is kind, compassionate and always looking out for them. His passion is skiing and I am now at the point that I dont try to keep up with him. In the fall and spring he plays soccer while counting down the days to ski season. He has also rekindled an interest in lacrosse.
The cardiology team at Children's Colorado has done an amazing job these past 5 years to maximize the battery life on Tanner's pacemaker. We are now at the 10 year mark and it needs to be replaced. His team will meet with us in July to finalize the plan for surgery in the fall.
Taylor continues to be the glue that keeps them all together. She is steady, strong, compassionate and unwavering in her support of her siblings. Always asking for an update after their appointments and becoming more aware of their conditions. She is our artistic kid who has an interest in theater and has participated in a few productions. Im not sure where she got that talent from. In addition, she plays soccer in the spring and fall. Thanks to her brother she has also shown interest in lacrosse. Time will tell.
