Hello all!
This will be my seventh year riding in the Courage Classic and I am dedicated to riding in the Rockies to support our amazing Heart Warriors like Riley. His family shared his story below:
"Riley was born on April 20, 2024 and was taken to NICU right after birth for low oxygen levels. He was transported to Children's Hospital within hours of being born. He was diagnosed with pulmonary atresia of the right ventricle. He was told he needed a heart transplant at 3 days old. And was placed on the UNOs transplant list soon after. He had a stent placed to help while waiting for a new heart. He was an inpatient at Children's Hospital while he waited for a transplant. When he was 40 days old he received a new heart. He is thriving and working on walking right now while he still has regular check-ups and meds that he will always have to have."
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children like Riley.
Proceeds go towards supporting our patients and their families while they receive care in our Heart Institute. Additionally, some funds are allocated to research to improve outcomes for heart warriors.
