Hello everyone!
I am signed up for the Courage Classic this year for the 8th time, meaning: a) I have completely lost my mind; II) I have become convinced that pain is a good thing and will lead to some sort of reward in the next life; C)I enjoy the mountain air in the company of like-minded cyclists and work partners; FOUR) I am happy and proud to raise money to benefit the care of the kids for whom I have the great privilege of providing care; or E) all of the above!!
Sheila and I are excited to ride again this year. Please support one (or both) of us!

Having been a human lightning rod and pelted by hail two years in a row, the weather gods will hopefully provide a break this year. As before, I plan to begin with a long and grueling but beautiful ride of 80 miles on day 1, then a mellower ride on day 2, with 120+ miles and over 10,000 vertical feet over two days.
I hope you can be with me in spirit, and I hope I am around after the weekend in more than just spirit (don't worry)! Once again, I am asking for your generous support as I ride with over 1,000 other riders to support Children's Hospital Colorado.
Our team "Special Forces", representing the Children's Colorado Special Care Clinic, has grown once again this year to reflect our big multidisciplnary team. I am supporting the Courage Classic for patients like those I care for: Derek, James, and Santiago, just to name a few. While many kids are faced with a chronic condition with which they struggle mightily, these kids are challenged with multiple conditions at the same time. They make my ride seem like a piece of cake when I think about what they have to go through daily.
Did you know that Children's Colorado plays a special role in providing care for kids who can't get insurance? Several of my Special Care Clinic kids receive free care that they could get literally NOWHERE else. I am proud of the role we can play in caring for these kids, some of whom are undocumented but are an important part of our family, especially this year. Please help me to help them by donating to my ride today! I have a goal of $500 or more. Think about it: if only four of you contribute only a penny per foot climbed, I'll reach my goal with room to spare!
And if you're sick and tired of supporting me (and of reading this), please consider supporting Sheila in her ride. We are both on the hook to raise funds for this great cause.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children. Please support us with a donation today!
THANK YOU!!
