Forest, Children's Hospital Colorado patient crossing the finish line at the 2024 Courage Classic
Friends, family, and any other who wish to support the care of pediatric patients at Children's Hospital Colorado and beyond:
The kids need your help!
I have committed to punishing myself over two days in July to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients who are in need of acute medical and traumatic care.
The ride itself is pretty brutal: two days, 160miles, and 13,966 feet of elevation gain (that's like climbing halfway up Mt. Everest from sea level in two days.
But the pain that will be endured won't come close to that endured by parents who come to us hopeful for treatments and cures of sometimes life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
During my time in the Pediatric Emergency Department, I have the privilege to care for children and their parents at times of great need. The care we provide ranges from providing reassurance to parents that their child will recover from their fever and cough to intervening to provide life-saving support for illnesses ranging from respiratory failure, car accidents, and, gun shot wounds. None of this work would be possible without the support of people like you who provide financial support to our mission of providing high-quality, timely care.
In addition to acute care, we also conduct research to advance future care with the goal of minimizing interventions and achieving optimal outcomes to get children home as quickly as possible and back to being healthy, thriving kids to make happier and healthier communities.
While you may not personally benefit from any financial assistance, our care and research efforts may one day help improve the care of your children, grandchildren, or friends' and neighbors' children.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children.
I thank you personally for your consideration of donation-- all of your support will go directly toward the children of Colorado and around the world.
Gratefully,
Andy
