Eva epitomizes everything that brought me into medicine and adult congenital cardiology; in the face of challenges and setbacks, she rises up and continues forward with grace and amazing strength. I met Eva in clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital and we have been working side by side ever since. In the years that have followed, I have seen her incredible attitude in full display. Whether it is volunteering in the NICU at Children's Hospital Colorado or being the eternal cheerleader for the Cardiac Climbers and the Courage Classic, Eva fills everyone around her and helps us be the best versions of ourselves. Her husband Chris is no slouch himself and it is a rare individual who can make a whole room of providers laugh immediately before a complex procedure. His strength is a gift that we have all shared since the moment we met.
Those of you that know Eva's story have heard all of these accolades before. Those of you who don't simply have to go up and ask her. She is incredibly generous with her time, her expertise, and wants nothing more than to educate those around her on how to life a full life in the face of complex congenital heart disease.
I, and the rest of the heart rhythm team at Children's Hospital Colorado, feel incredibly blessed to have Eva in our lives and we look forward to many years of working together and advocating for patients.
