This year, I am riding in honor and memory of Kali. Kali was a sweet and spunky red-headed big sister, daughter, and friend to all that knew her. Although I didn’t get the chance to know her personally, caring for Kali and her family made a profound impact on me and I think of them all often. It has already been 20 years since Kali had a tragic accident, ultimately losing her life, while performing on her horse during an English style competition. Kali’s family has been generously supporting the staff at CHCO for years through a fund supporting an annual staff resiliency conference in Kali’s honor. The money raised by the PICU Peloton is used within the PICU to help support the parents and siblings of patients, like Kali, while navigating some of the worst days of their lives.Thank you for considering a donation to my Courage Classic ride as I plan to ride about 100 miles through the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Kali’s honor!
