I ride to give hope to Children’s Hospital Colorado patients like our spunky daughter, Eadlyn.
What seemed like a typical virus 2 year olds experience frequently, quickly escalated to an ER visit and emergency Med Evac helicopter to Children's Hospital. Eadlyn was immediately admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with life-threatening severe sepsis from group A step and was taken into orthopedic surgery to drain the infection sites in her legs to give her little body a fighting chance.
Eadlyn spent two weeks in the PICU being carefully monitored and was eventually discharged 3 weeks to the day after she was admitted. She continues to receive ongoing care from the incredible multi-disciplinary teams that handled her complex case including Infectious Disease, Interventional Radiology and Hematology.
Our family remains indebted to Children's Hospital and the Courage Classic is an opportunity to support the vital services they offer to children just like Eadlyn.
