I am riding the Courage Classic in support of my friend Matt along with the amazing and supportive staff at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Matt’s son Myles was diagnosed with a terminal degenerative disorder as he approached his first birthday. Matt, Julie and Myles received treatment from Children’s hospital Colorado as young Miles began talking and eating solid food. Myles struggled through seizures as he tried to walk. Not only did Children’s Hospital provide Matt and Julie with critical treatment for their son, but also emotional support as they navigated the journey of parenthood. As Myles’ condition worsened, he was confined to eating through a tube and was unable to walk. Thanks to Children’s Hospital, Matt and Julie were able to make the most of their time with Myles. Sadly, Myles passed away before his second birthday - a short life that filled our friends with joy, but ultimately ended far too soon. It takes a dedicated team to work with young children and their families during such challenging times.
Matt and Julie could not have navigated Myles’ condition without the support of Children’s Hospital. Children’s Hospital Colorado provides world class care for mental and physical conditions to children from all over the country. Every year, thousands of people around Colorado saddle up to lend their own support to the hospital and its amazing staff.
Team MSC is seeking to raise $10,000 for the hospital this year. We would appreciate any donation, large or small in support of this cause and in remembrance of Matt’s son Myles. THANK YOU!
