I made the decision to ride in the Courage Classic this year as a way to take on a personal challenge and support a cause that means something to me. I am the father of two young children, Amelia (5) and James (3), and becoming a Dad has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. However I am keenly aware of how disruptive and emotionally draining a childhood illness can be. When I was much younger, my brother was a childhood cancer patient who benefited immensely from care at Children's Hospital in Boston.
Like other Dads I want my kids to be healthy all the time, but understand that when that is not the case, world class facilities like Childrens Hospital Colorado are critical infrastructure in ensuring positive outcomes for kids. Research conducted by Childrens Hospital Colorado contributes to cutting edge pediatric care practices around the country and helps support healthy children, families and communities.
I hope that you will consider supporting my fundraising efforts this year and I look forward to seeing other riders in Colorado this July!
