Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am SO excited to join the Cardiac Climbers this July to fundraise for the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado. I am dedicating my ride to a very special patient of the Heart Institute, Josiah:
"Josiah was born Aug. 16th, 2022 with a congenital heart condition known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. His family had 4 precious hours with him before he went into cardiac arrest that night. He was placed on ECMO and a ventilator. After a few weeks and two catheter procedures, Josiah went in for his first of three planned open heart surgeries, a hybrid procedure. That surgery failed and Josiah was given one option: heart transplant. Josiah was listed status 1a, the highest priority. He waited for 311 days before finally getting the call that his hero heart was ready for him. Finally, after 363 days in the hospital, Josiah was able to go home to his two older siblings and parents just two days before his first birthday. We are forever grateful to Josiah’s donor and their family for the immeasurable gift they chose to give in their darkest moment. Because of them, Josiah has been given a second chance at life.”
