My fundraising team, Psyched to Climb, focuses on raising awareness of the mental health crisis of Children in Colorado. I believe that once we start treating mental health the way that we treat physical health, our society will be able to be stronger, healthier, and more supportive of one another. It's important that kids feel empowered to ask for the care they need for their mental health and have access to this life-changing care. Children's Hospital is focusing on developing out programming to ensure this happens for the kids of Colorado.
Personally, having been a child who was chronically ill and hospitalized, I realize how important it is to support these hospitals. A staff and building that feels well supported makes a huge difference in the care you receive. When I was sick, the amazing nurses taking care of me made all the difference in how quickly I recovered.
