I ride to give hope to Childrens Hospital Colorado patients like my daughter Mackenzie.
Mackenzie was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a type of congenital heart disease in which the left side of her heart never formed. Mackenzie had her first open heart surgery at 4 days old, when her heart was just the size of a walnut. She suffered a stroke in the perinatal period and developed cerebral palsy. At two years old, Mackenzie has endured three open heart surgeries and more than 6 months of hospitalization and procedures. She is the happiest little warrior princess and lights up every room she walks into.
