The Parmalee Panthers team rides to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients like Parmalee Elementary's own Quinn Harris.
In December 2022, Quinn was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma - a rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in the bones or the soft tissue around the bones. After many visits and lengthy stays at Children's Hospital Colorado, the friendly, big-hearted eleven year old, considers the doctors, nurses and staff at CHC to be not only friends, but family.
Quinn's mom, Brooke, explains it best in an excerpt from their Caring Bridge page. https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/quinnharris
"We got to hug Lynn, the kindest Colorado Children’s main-lobby-check-in- person ever, and we were embraced by the oncology team soon after. It felt like coming home in a twisted way. People on the 7th floor understand us in a way that the rest of the world can’t. We don’t have to explain ourselves there. It feels comforting in many ways."
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for kids like Quinn. Whether you ride, either day or both, or take part as a virtual participant (and come up with your very own challenge), or donate, there's a way to participate and help the cause.
