The Courage Classic is an amazing event that is very personal for me and my family. I am so fortunate to ride with Prologis, the naming sponsor and event partner, to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Colorado.
My daughter, Ruth, was born at Children’s Colorado with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), a spontaneous cardiac condition that causes the heart to beat double-time. Immediately following delivery she was whisked off to the NICU where she was stabilized and monitored for several days prior to being discharged. She recently returned to Children's Colorado for a minimally invasive heart surgery to cure her condition. She’ll be four years old this summer, and is nearly complete with post-surgical out-patient monitoring.
I am not a particularly religious man, but “Angels” is the only word that comes to mind when describing the staff at Children’s Colorado. From the medical specialists, to the nurses, to the volunteers and support staff at the hospital – everyone that helped us through that difficult time left a lasting impression on my family.
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for kids like Ruth and their families.
