I will be riding 140 miles and 4 mountain passes over the weekend with a small group of fellow Denver area cyclists. Parents, professionals, volunteers, and friends who will raise thousands of dollars this summer for the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation.
We ride to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients like Daniel, who is battling brain cancer. In the last three years, the teenager has had six brain surgeries and 48 days of radiation. Days other kids might have spent riding a bike and being a kid.
Impressively, Daniel rode alongside his family and teammates in the tour last year to raise money for patients like him. He won't be the last child to face a life-threatening illness and his family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
The Courage Classic is a personal challenge and luxury. It's also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children. If you'd like to help us out, we could not be more grateful. We'll use that to motivate us when we're halfway up Vail Pass!
