Our congenital cataract warrior! Julia from 2019 --> 2024
This is my first year riding in the Courage Classic--my husband Andrew has finally convinced me to join him!
Andrew works at CHCO, helping to care for children with all types of infections and doing research on oral antibiotics (hoping to get kids out of the hospital and home with their families sooner).
Five years ago, our experience with Children's became more personal when our daughter, Julia, was diagnosed with a congenital cataract just one day after she was born. She had her first surgery at four weeks old and after innumerable visits to the pediatric ophthalmology clinic we are beyond grateful for the skilled and compassionate care she has received to literally save her vision.
