WHY I RIDE - The Cardiac Climbers team rides the annual "Courage Classic" to help raise funds for the Heart Institue at Children's Hospital Colorado. All of the money raised goes directly to equipment, support, and education. Kids deserve the chance to be kids - whether it's riding a bike, jumping in the mud, or hiking under the stars. MEET LILLY - Lilly is 5 years old. She was diagnosed with HLHS in utero at her mother's 20 week anatomy scan. She was born at Children's Hospital Colorado and had her first (of three open heart surgeries) at 5 days old. Lilly's most recent open heart surgery was May 2021. Lilly is closely monitored by the Heart Institute and will have future heart interventions, heart surgeries, or a heart transplant in her lifetime. We are so thankful for Lilly's Team, Children's Hospital Colorado, and the Heart Institute!
