Last year was so incredible, I'm saddling up for a 2nd ride! I am excited to participate in the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour again in just a few weeks to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado's patients and families. I set a goal to raise $1000 by riding 120+ miles through the Rockies because I want to help Children's Colorado continue it's mission to provide high quality healthcare to children in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. As a Children's provider and parent I know first hand how critical this mission is.
This year I am riding in honor of my friend Max Harmon and his wonderful family from Laramie, WY. Max was a fighter and the bravest little soul I have known, starting back when I first met him in the NICU. He was born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) which severely impacts lung development and in some cases, can be fatal. Max fought for almost 8 years through multiple complications that this diagnosis threw his way. Despite countless surgeries and admissions, Max brought a smile to everyone who had the privilege to work with him, even in his sickest times. And to say that Max has the world's greatest parents is an understatement. Specializing in pediatrics means family centered care - it's a team effort between providers and families, something that Children's Hospital Colorado prioritizes. Working with parents like Katie and Keith Harmon makes our job that much more rewarding. Max thrived because of the love and dedication from his parents. I sure miss the Harmons very much.
Thank you for considering a donation to this year's Courage Classic - let's do this for Max!
Love, Alicia
