Our family is excited to participate for the third year in the Courage Classic Bicycle Ride to support our boys, Jeremiah and Luke, and in appreciation of the incredible work that is being done at Children's Hospital Colorado and the Anna and John Sie Center for Down Syndrome.
As many of you are aware, Jeremiah and Luke both happen to have Down syndrome which has given us a ticket into one of the greatest clubs. Upon both boys' arrival into our family, we were swooped up with love and support by this club as we navigated the new path. The community that was built taught us how joy could be found in trials and inspired us to live each day with gratefulness.
Jeremiah surprised us at birth with his extra chromosome. It is often said that this extra chromosome holds more love, acceptance and beauty than if one was born without it. At five years old, we can attest this to be true. Jeremiah is a delight to everyone he comes in contact with and is a true testament to his life verse, Jeremiah 29:11.
Luke's journey started almost two years ago when he was born extremely premature at 25 weeks and diagnosed with Down syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, chronic respiratory failure, and congenital heart disease. The months that followed were a long journey filled with uncertainty and prayer. By the grace of God and the talented team of doctors and nurses at both Presbyterian St. Luke's and Children's Hospital Colorado, we were fortunate to bring Luke home on May 31st, 2023 after spending 219 days in the NICU. Since he has been home, he has been working so hard on growing stronger and developing. He is adored by his four siblings and parents.
This year's cycling journey takes place July 20th and 21st , 2024 at Copper Mountain. We would be honored if you would consider joining our team to ride on Saturday, July 20th as we ride from Copper to Vail and back to Copper, or helping us reach our combined goal of $5000 by making a donation to our fundraising page.
Thank you for your support!
