Hey everyone!
It's 2023 and for the first time in a long time, I'm going into this ride healthy and ready to roll. The classic this year is back to the Copper Triangle and new this year, up to Loveland Pass. I'll be taking a break from my usual running shenanigans to ride the bike and raise some money for a great cause.
I've been connected with Children's for a long time. First though Camp Wapiyapi, a camp for kids with cancer and their siblings, where many of the kids at camp were patient's at Children's. Seeing these kids fight cancer over my eight years at camp was an inspiring experience and I owe it to them and every other kid at Children's to support them in their fight against life-threatening disease.
Now a therapist in the Sport's Medicine Program at Children's, I see kids every day working to get back to doing the sports that they love. Although a different challenge, it is no small feat to stare down a 9 month rehab program to return to soccer from a torn ACL or get back to gymnastics after a devastating elbow dislocation. I'm raising money for the Classic because these kids deserve the best possible care we can provide.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children. Please help with whatever you can to help me support this amazing cause.
