Dear Friends and Family,
I am riding the The Children's Hospital Courage classic again this year! As many of you know, I ride with the Climb for Coop team in memory of Cooper Deming, who lost his battle with brain cancer when he was just shy of 13 years old. We met Cooper and his family at Explore and Discover, the child care co-op we used when Cyrus was a baby. Cooper was one of Cyrus' first friends. He was the first kid I heard tell Cyrus a joke. After a full minute of belly lauging, Cyrus looked up at Cooper and said, "Can you tell it again?" That memory still makes me smile.
Cooper's parents were part of our amazing community who helped us get through those amazing, chaotic, and sleepless first years of parenthood. We met at parks, traded babysitting, and loved each other's kids tremendously.
The Climb for Coop team is able to direct our fundraising dollars directly to pediatric cancer research. We hope that someday, no child or family will find themselves faced with a cancer diagnosis that can't be treated. I hope that you will join me in honoring Cooper's memory and helping other families faced with this devastating diagnosis. Your support makes a difference, and any amount is appreciated:
