Hello all!
This will be my sixth year riding in the Courage Classic and I am dedicated to riding in the Rockies to support patients like Jackson, one of our amazing Heart Warriors.
Jackson's mom shared his story:
"Jackson was born at Children's Hospital Colorado. He was born with half a heart due to also having a genetic condition called CHARGE. CHARGE is the leading cause of deaf and blindness in the world. Jackson had his first heart surgery at 5 days old and his second heart surgery at 6 months old. Jackson's 2nd heart surgery recovery was very rocky and long and his parents almost lost him on two separate occasions. Jackson is currently not a candidate for the third heart surgery nor is he a candidate for a transplant. Jackson is a fun loving 6th grader who has learned to live life on life's terms and even do so with a smile. He's constantly telling everyone "I'm happy". Jackson loves all things Mario."
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children like Jackson.
