This is my third year participating in the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour to benefit Children's Hospital Colorado (and my wife Christine will be joining me on the ride this year!). I've been lucky to have spent my last 7 years learning and working here at CHCO as part of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases section. I have witnessed the life-changing care that patients receive here and am honored to give back to this incredible organization however I can.
Five years ago, my experience with CHCO became more personal when my daughter, Julia, was diagnosed with a congenital cataract just after she was born. After two surgeries (the first when she was just a month old) and innumerable visits to the ophthalmology clinic, I am beyond thankful for the skilled and compassionate care my daughter has received.
The money our team raises will stay within our Pediatric ID group and help fund research endeavors of our fellows and early-career faculty.
