Our resilient heart-warrior turned 10 this June! We couldn’t be more proud of Gabi for all she’s become and overcome. After several major surgeries and more treatments and doctor visits in her short life than the rest of our extended families combined, the help from Children's has given her a life of health!
I am constantly reminded that were it not for the access we had in her early years to the many specialists available at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Gabi might not have progressed into the healthy fourth grader she is today. She might not have made it at all!
Meanwhile, it’s almost too painful for me to think of the thousands of families that suffer similar or greater medical challenges and cannot afford to give their child the care they need. Many more have to sacrifice what little they do have, sometimes even their jobs, in order to travel long distances for long periods of time to get that care. This is why I ride and volunteer for the Courage Classic!
