I ride to give hope to Children’s Hospital Colorado patients like my son, Tim and the young boy I met at the top of Vail Pass on my first Courage Classic ride.
I had finally reached the summit of Vail Pass, about 65 miles into my ride. I had struggled mightily up a section called "The Wall". I was beat, and there to greet me was a Children's Hospital patient. He was about 5 or 6 years old. He held a sign that read something like, "I've had 3 heart surgeries. You can do this!" He high-fived every rider that came by. It still brings a tear to my eye. I ride for that young boy and for the daughter of our team captain, Delaney Goodner.
The Courage Classic is an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for kids like your's and mine.
