I ride to give hope to Children’s Hospital Colorado patients like Charlie Decker.
Charlie was born with congenital heart disease. For many years his heart disease was medically managed by the amazing Cardiology team at Children’s Hospital Colorado. His family knew that he would one day need to have the valves in his heart replaced. Charlie had surgery between his junior and senior year of high school and again during his freshman year in college. Charlie is thriving and just finished his junior year at the University of Michigan. He is an excellent student and is working on research at the University Michigan that will hopefully prevent mortality from fentanyl overdoses. He is an avid skier and fly fisherman. He is a certified first responder with his EMT certificate. This summer he is working at a dude ranch in Wyoming. Charlie is an amazing young man. He continues to be followed by the Adult/Congenital Program at the Heart Institute, Children’s Hospital Colorado. I am very honored to ride for him.
Please considering donating to CHCO to help young folks like Charlie.
