Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am deeply grateful for your past support and hope you will consider a contribution in 2024 - every dollar makes a difference! Just click on the DONATE NOW link above.
I rode my first Courage Classic in 1990. The ride took on deeper personal meaning when my 8 year old niece was diagnosed with Leuemia around 1993. Although my niece was in another state I knew that supporting the Children's hospital would benefit many children here in Colorado. Thankfully, my niece has been cancer free and is now a mother of 2 and is a Pediatric Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
From those first rides, I remember the heat, the hill climbs, the exhaustion and the dehydration. But the thing that really has stuck with me all these years was watching Team Courage cross the finish line. Those kids were so inspiring and brave to persevere over 3 days of really rough riding. And Team Courage keeps that faith and perseverence with each year that they ride.
Between 2010 and 2012 I rode on the Jared's Googled Eyed Warrior team and was happy that my son did the ride too. This group has now partnered with Wheels of Justice, with defeating pediatric cancer is the goal. The Wheels of Justice team is allowed to designate where the money raised is spent at Children’s Hospital. In 2024 we will continue to direct funding to our critical partnership with the doctors and staff in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders to provide resources for research and support of patients and families facing the challenges that come with a childhood cancer diagnosis. You can check out stories about the programs - at the team website here: https://www.wheelsofjustice.com/
I am looking forward to the challenge of the ride and the good feeling from supporting such a great cause.
Thanks, Kim
